"I used to teach at a state school in South Africa. Another teacher and I started a Christian group called the J-Team (Jesus Team). Through song, dance and dialogue we took the gospel message to schools and churches all over the country. When I came to New Zealand I joined the Discovery Elim Christian Centre which is one of the founding churches of our school. Teaching in a Christian environment was important to me and that’s how I came to Maranatha. Teaching is what God called me to do 30 years ago and this is my ministry. I love seeing how children respond to God and to know that I have had some input in their lives and, together with their parents and churches, giving them a good foundation for life through building their faith and teaching them Christian principles."
